Africa Yoga Federation (AYF) credits and registers
both individual Yoga Teachers and Yoga Teacher Training
programs (schools) that have complied with minimum international
educational standards established the International
Yoga Federation, the world governing body on yoga.
Vision
Africa Yoga Federation supports yoga schools and teachers
and the diversity and integrity of yoga in Africa.
Mission
To maintain a registry of yoga schools and teachers
who meet the international recommended educational standards,
to educate the public about the benefits of yoga and to honour
and support the diversity of all yoga practices.
Activities
Africa Yoga Federation maintain an international Yoga
Teachers' Registry Listing to recognise and promote teachers
with training that meets international standards, of at least 200
or 500 hours. Teachers registered with us are authorised to use
the initials "IRYT " (International Registered
Yoga Teacher) after their name.
Africa Yoga Federation also maintains
a Registry Listing of Yoga Schools to recognise yoga
teacher training programs of at least 200 or 500 hours. Credited
schools are authorised to use the initials "IRYS "
(International Registered Yoga School ) after their names.
The Creditation Listings are advertised and promoted
to the general public, businesses and/or organisations that employ
yoga teachers (i.e. recreational clubs, spa's etc.).
