Code of Conduct


Code of Conduct

Preample: This Code of Conduct is a summation and declaration of acceptable, ethical and professional behavior by which all International Registered Yoga Teachers (IRYT) and International Registered Yoga Schools (IRYS) agree to conduct the teaching and business of Yoga.

The Code is not intended to supersede the Code of Conduct/Ethics of any school or tradition but is intended to be a basis for yoga ethics.

Code of Conduct
As a International Registered Yoga Teacher (IRYT) or representative of a International Registered Yoga School (IRYS) of Africa Yoga Federation (AYF) , I agree to uphold the ethical goals set forth in the following Code of Conduct:

* Adhere to the traditional yoga principles as written in the Yamas and Niyamas.
* Yoga Schools & Yoga Teachers should pass on the Yoga methods to their students, in a way to help them to understand the true essence of Yoga,
* Uphold the integrity of my yoga profession by conducting myself in a professional and conscientious manner.
* Create and maintain a safe, clean and comfortable environment for the practice of yoga.
* Actively encourage diversity by respecting all students regardless of age, ethnicity, gender, physical limitations or religion affiliations.
* Respect the rights, dignity and privacy of all students.
* The teacher should be able to adapt her/his teaching to the students. requirements, in order to meet their individual needs and to respect their limits.
* Adhere to local government and national laws that pertain to best business practice.
